Tour Plan
DAY 1
Dar es Salaam – Katavi National Park
Depart by Air to Katavi National Park
Fly from Dar by shared charter plane, fly to Katavi National Park. Afternoon game drive and late afternoon/evening walking safari. Dinner and overnight at Katuma Bush Lodge.
DAY 2
Katavi National Park
After breakfast, Morning walking safari to explore the Katavi floodplain. Late morning break for picnic lunch. Afternoon game drives to Katavi’s inner side. Dinner and overnight at Katuma Bush Lodge
DAY 3
Katavi National Park
Early morning game drives till 1000hrs therefore return to the lodge for hot breakfast. Afternoon game drives will follow. Dinner and overnight at Katuma Bush Lodge
DAY 4
Katavi National Park – Mahale Mountains National Park
After breakfast; take shared chartered flight (one-hour) to the Mahale Mountains. transfer in boat along Lake Tanganyika. Lunch at Kungwe Beach Lodge. Afternoon foot-walking safari in the Mahale Mountains. Dinner and overnight at NKungwe Beach Lodge
DAY 5 & 6
Mahale National Park
Spend two-full days of bird-watching and chimpanzee tracking in Mahale Mountains. Picnic lunches in the mountain forest. Afternoon walking safaris in the mountains followed by late afternoon leisure time along the beach on Lake Tanganyika. Dinner and overnight at NKungwe Beach Lodge.
DAY 7
Mahale National Park – Dar es salaam
Depart by Air to Dar es Salaam
After breakfast, pick-up by boat and 4WD back to the airstrip for shared chartered flight to Dar.
